Practice game news

SDCC organized a practice game on Sunday, July 31 at CSP. Both the teams do not have an SCCA game for almost a month, so this was a good opportunity to get some match practice. It was also a good opportunity for the club’s youth cricketers and the new members.

Game format: The batsmen were given the task of chasing 250 runs in 50 overs and the bowlers had to defend this. At the end of the day, this turned out to be a very close match in which the bowlers defended the total leaving the batsmen 4 runs short.

Runs/Wickets: Vishal scored a half century and Pradeep C (37), Hrishi (30), Joe (27) and Ben (27) were among the other run getters. Krishna Teja (2), Bansi (1), Pradeep C (1), Vikram (1), Gaurav (1), Ashish (1), Karan (1) got the wickets when Ben and Vishal kept the batting at bay by bowling economical spells. Pratik was instrumental in effecting 3 run outs.

Great job by our Youth members: It was heartening to see the youth members of SDCC (Aman, Karan, Kabir and Kashish) play their first cricket game. These youngsters are part of a group which had been attending the nets session for the past 3-4 months, under the guidance of the senior players. Their enthusiasm and energy were apparent and results of these sessions were witnessed by the rest of us on the cricket field on that day. Kudos !
