SDCC1 vs United played at Severn on May 12, 2012

SDCC1 experienced their first loss of the season losing to United by 32 runs.

SDCC1 won the toss and elected to bowl on a good wicket.

All the SDCC1 bowlers stuck to their task and kept getting wickets at regular intervals. Vishal led the team with 3 wickets, Pratik and Achal with 2, Jatin with 1 and Achal and Gaurav with 1 run out each. From 117/6, United posted a fighting total of 224. Pinak was the highest scorer for United and at the end it was Shankar who scored 46 valuable runs.

Hrishi top scored with 56 for SDCC1 in their run chase of 224. Vishal, Kumar, Achal, Jatin, Bansi all got starts but could not convert it. The pitch was very good to bat on, but unfortunately some of the well set batsmen threw away their wickets off nothing balls. Credit goes to the United bowlers for bowling well, especially Shankar.

Few mistakes in the game happened and the team needs to learn quickly from them and move on! Keep fighting! Long way to go!

Citrus Valley vs SDCC2 played at CSP-1 on May 13, 2012

SDCC2 registered another convincing win over Citrus Valley beating them by 3 wickets.

Citrus Valley scored 213/8 in 45 overs. Rajbhai was the pick of the bowlers for SDCC2 with a miserly figures of 9-5-17-2. Other bowlers supported each other well restricting Citrus batsmen. Salman Ahmed scored a fighting 50 for Citrus.

SDCC2 began their chase with Rahul back in the pavilion for a first ball duck. Akash also could not continue his form from last game and was out bowled off an inside edge with score reading 20 odd runs. Balaji and Shridhar consolidated the innings very well. Unfortunately Balaji had to retire hurt due to cramps. Shridhar continue to bat well and partnership with Rahul C grew. Shridhar got out trying to clear the longer mid wicket boundary for a well made 30 runs. Rahul C got out immediately after the water break and was followed by Rajbhai who got out caught and bowled. SDCC2 were in a spot of bother. Balaji went in again to bat and this time with Saliman built a very good partnership of around 50 runs, with Saliman hitting 27 runs off 21 balls. With still 30+ runs required, Nathan and Balaji ensured there were no hiccups in the camp and the target was achieved. A solid performance from SDCC2! It was exciting to be at the ground watch this finish.
