Here is the scorecard:

Sandiego1 after having couple of good wins previous matches was on its way for an away game at Severn, Woodley against Ventura. Sandiego1 won the toss and elected to bat first. Kumar and Kabir opened the innings for Sandiego1 and made a slow and steady start. After making a decent start, Sandiego1 lost couple of quick wickets. Then Nishad and kumar had to rebuild the innings and kept Sandiego1 at a score of 65/2 after 18 overs(at the end of first break). Both continued with a good partnership and kept the momentum going on with good  rate. Nishad continued to play aggressively and was scoring boundaries regularly, he reached to his run a ball 50 with a boundary. The skipper placed his innings quite beautifully and went on to score 50. After reaching his 50, there was no looking back, he kept scoring boundaries all around the ground and reached his maiden 100 during the 37 over. That was a magnificent innings played by skipper and lead the team from the front. However, the lower middle order couldn’t capitalize much there after and Sandiego1 ended with a decent total of 253/8 on a beautiful batting ground.

Ventura chasing a target of 254 started their innings with Ricky Singh and Sunny Ram who have been scoring freely all around the ground. Sandiego1 couldn’t capitalize the opportunities provided by the openers. There were couple too many spilled catches by Sandiego1 that both openers provided as Ventura kept scoring at a runrate of over six. Amit provided Sandiego1 first breakthrough in 16 over when Ventura was already past 100. Sandiego1 could not capitalize much even after and kept giving boundaries. Ricky Singh kept scoring freely and has been hitting boundaries every over and making sure that the required runrate was under five. He went to score match winning 100 in mere 75 balls. Ventura lost Ricky Singh in 31st over who ended up scoring 133(94) but it was just a little too late for Sandiego1. Sandiego1 was able to get couple of quick wickets but couldnt pull it off and Ventura went on to win by 4 wickets with 5 overs to spare.

Lessons to be learned from the game:

Catches wins matches, we need to be more sharper in catching and put more pressure on new batsmen by being tight in the field. With pitches being more batting friendly sharper catching and fielding along with good bowling will definitely help us win more matches
